Good ol’ fashioned cut out sugar cookies for the holidays are one of my favorite childhood memories, and a tradition that I am carrying on with my kids. Today my daughter and I spent the afternoon using Halloween cookie cutters to make (and then decorate) sugar cookies for my husband’s work. This time, however, we made a much more interesting and flavorful cookie- by adding cinnamon to the dough.
Something about the combination of butter, cinnamon, and sugar made this cookie taste a lot like, well, a frosted snickerdoodle. So, so yummy. And it filled my house with the smells of fall.
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely and frost with your favorite frosting. I used my favorite frosting recipe for cookies and cupcakes.
