I had my high school girlfriends over on Friday for a girls dinner. I made lasagna and my friends brought salad and garlic bread bread and yummy appetizers and lots of wine (thanks Missy) and we ended the evening with these yummy brownie cheesecake bars, with coffee and cream and sugar. 🙂
INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg of brownie mix (I use Betty Crocker’s 9×13 family size)
Hershey’s chocolate syrup
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese
2 eggs
1 cup of white sugar
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare the brownies as directed, and place them in a 9×13 pan. Bake and cool. Cut into 12 squares with a cookie cutter. (You could actually use any shape)
In a mixer, cream the cream cheese, eggs and sugar. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan and bake for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick in the center comes out clean. Cool and cut 6 squares with the same cookie cutter.
Assemble your dessert by layering one square of brownie, then one square of cheesecake, and then another square of brownie. The chocolate syrup should act as your “glue” between each layer. Just a bit, about a dime sized drop will hold them together.
Refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to serve. When you are serving, top with a little powdered sugar and a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Enjoy!
