Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissants

Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissants

Another super simple recipe that takes only minutes to throw together.  Great for a coffee date with girlfriends or breakfast or brunch.

A Rumbly in my Tumbly original

Ingredients:

1 package of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1/4 cup of homemade strawberry jam
4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg + 1 tsp of water for egg wash

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, mix cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla. Cream until there are no lumps.

Unroll each crescent roll. On the fattest part of the triangle place 1 tsp on cream cheese mixture and one tsp of jam. Roll into a croissant shape.

Whisk together egg and water for egg wash and brush over each croissant.

Bake for 8-10 minutes until croissants are golden brown and inside is no longer doughy. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Enjoy!

  1. Yes, I'm sure. I make this recipe all the time, and I use 4oz. If you used an entire block of cream cheese you would end up with a TON of leftover filling that would go to waste.

  2. Deb,I really wouldn't recommend making them ahead of time. Crescent rolls aren't great after they go cold. What you could do though is make the cream cheese mixture and the jam ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the fridge. And when you're ready to bake, put them all together. Putting them together to bake really only takes about 5 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

  3. Question. I don't have a paddle attachment for my mixer (I only have a lowly hand mixer, still saving for a stand mixer! lol) would I just use the regular beater blades the same way? I was going to ask if the lemon juice would ruin the cream cheese, but clearly not, because other people have tried it to rather good result, from what I have read. 🙂

  4. Oh yes, a hand mixer will work perfectly fine. 🙂 And the lemon juice gives the cream cheese a subtle, excellent flavor. Thanks for visiting!

  5. Hi I just made these this morning. I did use store bought jam since I don't know how to make home made jams (yet ! I do want to learn) they were very easy and quick to make and delicious ! A little sweet but still YUMMY ! Thanks for sharing !!
