One pot spaghetti |
Spaghetti, one of those classic, easy recipes that we can all throw together with our eyes closed, and one of the first things that usually pops into my head when I get stumped about what to make for dinner each week.
For me, it’s so easy to make, bonus points that my kids both love it, and I almost always have the ingredients on hand. How can it get easier?
Oh, it can…
Because you can make it all in one pot, and it is absolutely scrumptious.
How? You ask. How can I get out of boiling those noodles?
Well, you cook them in the sauce.
Read and learn, people. And enjoy. 🙂
Recipe adapted from The Fantastical Sharing of Recipes
Ingredients:
1 lb ground pork, beef, turkey, or sausage (I used pork)
1 clove minced garlic
1 medium onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 cup of sliced white mushrooms
2 cans of chicken broth
1 24oz jar of spaghetti sauce (I used Barilla, I also like Classico)
8 oz dried spaghetti, cut into pieces
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
In a large stock pot, brown your meat, and drain the grease.
Add the onions and garlic and cook for about 3 minutes. Add green pepper and mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes more over medium heat.
Add your chicken broth and spaghetti sauce. Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
Add spaghetti noodles, cover and cook for about 15 minutes, until noodles are al dente. Stir periodically.
Remove from heat and add Parmesan cheese. Mix and serve.
Enjoy!
I’ve spent the last 3 days going through the archives here on your blog and I was so excited to see something adapted from my own blog here 🙂 I love the addition of veggies – I’m definitely going to have to try that when I make it next!
Thank you for the recipe! It has become a family favorite over here! I haven’t made two pot spaghetti since! Love your blog as well. 🙂
