Cinnamon Toast Crunch Dessert Pizza

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Dessert Pizza by Rumbly in my TumblyBefore I tell you guys about this dessert pizza, I have to first tell you about my new puppy.  Okay. My husband wouldn’t like that term.  Our new puppy. His nickname is Grizzy, his formal name is Clark W. Griswold Jr., and he’s my new baby.  I seriously cannot believe how much I love him.  I’ve been so busy being obsessed with him over the last month, and potty training him (and my two year old) that I just haven’t had time to take pictures or write a post about anything I’ve made. But on the upside, I’ve cleaned up more pee and poop over the last month than any human should ever have to see in their life.  Am I allowed to talk about those things on a food blog? Ha.

But look how worth it he is. Isn’t he the best looking, most majestic, perfect looking puppy you’ve ever seen?

We adopted him at 4 months old from somebody who wasn’t taking care of him.  He wasn’t trained at all, potty or otherwise, hadn’t had his vaccinations, was sick with giardia, and had spent a good portion of his life in a crate, so he has been a lot of work, but a lot of totally worth it work.  And now he’s good, I’m good, we’re all good.

Okay. On to this pizza. This is a play on my Godfather’s Dessert Pizza recipe, which I am obsessed with.  That’s my second time saying obsessed in this one post but there’s no other word that accurately conveys my exact feelings on either subject. Anyway, I was serving my kids their big, nutritious favorite breakfast of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the clouds parted, and I swear, it’s like angels were singing at me from the heavens “HEY WE HAVE A GOOD IDEA- PUT THIS ON DESSERT PIZZA!”

So I did, and they were right, it is bomb. The cinnamon streusel combined with the crunchy cinnamon cereal is seriously the best thing ever.  Oh, and the best part- Refrigerated pizza crust, a couple ingredients you already have, and the cereal, and BOOM. 12-15 minutes later you have yourself a pizza.

Pizza dough (You can make your own, I just bought some refrigerated dough at the grocery store)
1 TBSP butter, melted
Cinnamon for sprinkling

1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 cup Cinnamon Toast Crunch, lightly crushed
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 TBSP vegetable shortening
2 TBSP melted butter

1 cup powdered sugar
1 TBSP milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together streusel ingredients with a fork, or your clean hands, then side aside.
To make pizza, pat dough into a 12 inch pizza pan that has been sprayed with oil.  Perforate pizza dough with a fork (this keeps bubbles from forming), then brush with 1 TBSP melted butter. Sprinkle cinnamon all around buttered crust. Top pizza crust with streusel mix.
Bake at 460 F for 8 to 9 minutes depending on the thickness of the pizza.  Mix icing ingredients until it is of a drizzle consistency. If it is too thick, then thin with a small amount of milk until you have reached your desired thinness.

When finished baking, top with icing in a circular pinwheel pattern. Cut up and enjoy!
