Perfectly Prepared Asparagus |
Yay! The farmer’s market near our house has finally opened! This means I can have asparagus whenever I want. This is my very favorite way to fix it. The asparagus is tender but still has a crunch to it. Seasoned lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, this is my go-to vegetable for the summer.
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb of asparagus, washed with ends broken off
A drizzle of olive oil
salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 400°. Break off the ends of the asparagus (when you snap them from the bottom, they will break right where they are supposed to.) and place them on a broiling pan (I line mine with foil– this helps with the mess.) Drizzle them with some olive oil, and add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Using your clean hands, mix it all together until everything is evenly coated. Bake for about 10 minutes, until asparagus is tender.
