Well, it’s football season, which at my house means lazy Sundays spent in pajamas watching football and eating highly fattening dips and junk food all day.
Life is rough.
I kid you not when I say that the deciding factor for my husband in the decision making process on the house we bought was the proximity to his favorite pizza place. So when I found this recipe on Closet Cooking and I knew that my pizza-addicted husband would love it.
Hot creamy cheese is layered in a pie pan with pizza sauce, and then whatever other toppings you want. We did peperoni, sauteed mushrooms, green peppers and onion today. You can do whatever toppings you want.
Serve with toasted baguette pieces and enjoy. Go Seahawks!
Ingredients
Layer 1:
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup mozzarella, grated
1/4 cup parmigiano reggiano (parmesan), grated
Layer 2:
1 cup pizza sauce
Layer 3: (This is where you can get creative and add any toppings you like on your real pizza)
1/2 cup mozzarella, shredded/grated
1/4 cup parmigiano reggiano (parmesan), grated
2 ounces pepperoni, sliced
2 tablespoons green pepper, sliced
2 tablespoons diced onions
1/2 cup sauteed mushrooms
Directions
1.Mix the cream cheese, sour cream mayonnaise, mozzarella and parmigiano reggiano and spread it across the bottom of a pie plate.
2.Spread the pizza sauce on top and sprinkle on the cheese and other pizza toppings.
3.Bake in a preheated 350F oven until the sides are bubbling and the cheese cheese has melted and turned golden brown on top, about 20 minutes.
This looks so delicious I will have to try making I this weekend. By the way I second your comment about the Seahwks!!!
Thanks Rachelle! Hope you enjoy it! 🙂
