These delicious, soft, buttery peanut butter cookies are thick and chewy and packed full of peanut butter.  The Reeses Pieces don’t just add extra peanut butter- they add a delicious crunch to the cookie as well.

These are not a crunchy cookie.  They are definitely for soft-batch lovers (like me) but I think crunchy, over-baked cookies are overrated.

These were great as-is, but probably would have been even better if I’d added a cup of chocolate chips to the dough.  Oh well, there’s always tomorrow, and I’ll be making these again for sure.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup room temperature butter
2 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cups of Reeses Pieces Candy (plus additional for pressing onto the top)

Directions:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.  Stir in Reeses by hand.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls; flatten slightly and place a few more candies on top of each cookie. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light brown. Cool for a few minutes and then immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
